Deleting your Bookle account
This page explains how to delete the personal information associated with your Bookle account. Account deletion cannot be undone.
Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the Bookle app.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Select Delete account and confirm.
Deletion is processed immediately, and you’re signed out when it completes.
Request deletion without the app
If you’ve already removed the app or can’t access it, you can request deletion below.

Account deletion request - Body: the email address linked to your Bookle account. If you used “Hide My Email” with Apple sign-in, give the Apple relay address (
@privaterelay.appleid.com) rather than your real address.
Once we receive your request, we send a confirmation email to that address. We process the request within 7 business days of the day you confirm by replying, and we let you know when it’s done.
Verification only confirms that you can access the email address linked to the account. We don’t ask for ID documents or any other paperwork.
The request, verification, and completion emails we exchange are kept for 3 months after the request is completed so we can confirm the deletion history, and are then destroyed.
If you used Bookle without social sign-in
If you used Bookle only through a device-based guest account, without signing in with Google or Apple, there’s no email address linked to your account, so we can’t verify you by email. Please use Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. If you’ve already removed the app, the data stored on your device was removed along with it, and any guest account data still on our servers is deleted automatically after 12 months of inactivity. What is deleted
- Social login connections (Google / Apple), the social account identifier, and authentication links
- Email address and display name provided by the provider
- Reading records (books read, wishlists, ratings, notes, and other individual activity records)
- Contact inquiries and reply email addresses you submitted
- Your child profile’s nickname and birth month
- Device identifier, push notification tokens, and device links
We normally keep inquiry content and reply email addresses for 3 years from submission, but if you delete your account we delete them at that point too.
What is retained
- Aggregate counts that keep no individual records — for example, how many times a given book has been read — for service quality improvement. These aggregates contain no per-person records.
- App usage statistics — for up to 2 years from collection
Items we’re legally required to retain may be kept for the period required by applicable law.
