These terms govern the use of the Bookle app service (“Service”) provided by Magellan Studio (“Company”). By using the Service, you are deemed to agree to these terms.
1. Service Overview
Bookle helps parents systematically manage their children’s English reading activity. The Service includes:
- Reading-level-based English book search and recommendations
- Per-child reading records and statistics
- Book lookup via ISBN barcode scanning
- AI-based book suitability guidance
- Reading missions and reading-streak management
- Creating your own reading lists
2. Eligibility
The Service is designed for parents and guardians to use together with their children. Child profiles are created and managed by the parent or guardian.
3. Accounts
The Service can be used through a device-based guest account without separate sign-up, and it also offers social sign-in with a Google or Apple account.
- Guest account data is tied to the device, so deleting the app removes the data stored on that device. Guest account data held on our servers is deleted automatically after 12 months of inactivity.
- With social sign-in, you can keep using the same account — and your reading records — after changing devices or reinstalling the app, and data created as a guest can be linked to your social account.
- You are responsible for managing the social account you sign in with; use of that account is governed by the terms of the respective provider (Google, Apple).
- You may request unlinking of your social account or deletion of your account at developer@magellan2048.com. What is collected and how long it is kept is governed by the Privacy Policy.
4. Content
Disclaimer: Book information, AI analysis results, and reading-level recommendations provided by the Service are for reference only, and the Company does not guarantee that every book is suitable for every child.
- The copyright in the Service’s book data, recommendation algorithms, and AI analysis results belongs to the Company.
- The copyright in reading records, notes, and ratings created by users belongs to the users.
- Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of content is prohibited.
5. Prohibited Conduct
The following is prohibited:
- Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
- Collecting content in bulk through automated means
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Service
- Redistributing content without permission
- Improperly using another person’s account
6. Changes and Interruption of Service
The Company reserves the right to:
- Add, change, or remove Service features
- Suspend or permanently discontinue the Service without prior notice
- Disclaim liability for damages arising from Service interruption
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranty as to:
- Uninterrupted operation of the Service
- The accuracy of book information and reading levels
- The completeness of AI analysis results
- Fitness for a particular purpose
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company is not liable for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages arising from use of the Service.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service’s trademarks, logos, designs, book database, recommendation algorithms, and software belong to the Company.
9. Changes to These Terms
The Company may change these terms, and material changes will be notified through the app. If you do not agree to the changed terms, you must stop using the Service.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court shall be the court of first instance for disputes related to the Service.
